Unstuffed Cabbage Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
Freshly cracked black pepper
1 lb of grounded beef
1 pc of onion; skins removed & minced
8 c of cabbage (after cutting); cores removed then cut to one inch thickness
1/4 c of water
1 can of tomatoes (28 ozs); crushed OR 1 can of tomato puree
1 Tbsp of sugar (brown)
1 Tbsp of sugar (white)
1/2 tsp of salt
1&1/2 tsps of caraway (seeds)
1 clove of garlic
Instructions:
Saute your meat using a Dutch oven. Drain off excess fat. Add in the onions then cook ’till onions run clear.
Mix in the cabbage with water then cook ’till cabbage becomes fork tender. Mix in the tomatoes, sugars, salt, vinegar, caraway and pepper. Add garlic then mix thoroughly. Brink mixture to a boil then lower down heat and simmer for half an hour.
Serve on top of hot cooked rice. Good for four persons.
