Swiss Steak-Sour Cream Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1 Tbsp of parsley (fresh); chopped
1/2 c of soured cream
4 pcs of beef steaks (5 ozs); broiled rare
1/4 tsp of paprika
1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp of cheese (Parmesan); shredded
2 packets of beef seasoning
1&1/2 c of water
2 tsps of flour (all purpose)
1 c of mushroom (caps); sliced
1 c of onions; diced
2 tsps of vegetable or olive oil
Instructions:
Preheat oven (350 degrees F).
Saute mushrooms with onions ’till onions become clear. Dust flour lightly over the vegetables then cook mixing for one minute. Slowly add water.
Mix in the seasoning then bring mixture to boil. Simmer ’till sauce is thick. Mix the cheese in, Worcestershire sauce, pepper then paprika.
Turn off heat then place the broiled steaks inside a two quart baking dish. Decant the vegetable mixture, cover then bake for forty five minutes until meat has become tender. Transfer the steaks to a separate plate then set it aside.
Scoop two tablespoons vegetable mixture with the soured cream then return to the baking dish. Transfer the steaks back inside then sprinkle parsley generously over the casserole.
