Baked Spinach Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
3 Tbsps of butter
3 Tbsps of onion; grated
1 lb of mushrooms; chopped
3 Tbsps of flour
1/4 tsp of nutmeg
2 c of light-cream
2 packs of spinach (frozen); thawed & drained
3 Tbsps of grated cheese (Swiss or Gruyere)
2 tsps of salt
1/4 tsp of pepper (white)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to three hundred twenty-five degrees Fahrenheit. Saute the mushrooms & onions in heated butter about 5 mins.
Add the nutmeg, pepper, flour and salt. Slowly add the cream then stir ’til it boils. Season to taste.
Spread one-half spinach over greased casserole then cover w/ one-half mushroom-sauce. Repeat layers ending w/ cheese.
Allow to set the pan in heated water then bake it for 40 mins.
