John Wayne Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
8 oz of canned chiles (green, diced)
1 lb of cheese (Monterey Jack); grated coarsely
1 lb of cheese (Cheddar); grated coarsely
1/2 tsp of salt
3/4 c of evaporated milk
1/8 tsp of pepper (black)
1 Tbsp of flour
2 pcs of tomatoes; sliced thinly
4 pcs of eggs (separated)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven (325 degrees F). Combine cheeses with chiles mix them well and place on buttered casserole. Combine yolks, salt, pepper, flour, and milk inside a bowl; mix thoroughly.
Beat the whites of egg on another bowl till its peaks becomes stiff; carefully fold onto the mixture of yolks. Pour mixture onto the casserole with cheeses/chiles; blend carefully.
Bale inside preheated oven for half an hour. Take out from the oven then arrange the slices of tomato on top, covering entire surface; bake again for another half hour. Garnish (green) chiles.
