Italian Meatball Sandwich Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1/3 c of scallions; chopped
1/4 c of breadcrumbs (Italian seasoned)
3 Tbsps of grated cheese (Parmesan)
1 lb of beef (ground)
16 oz of bread (Italian-style); cubed to 1-inch
8 oz of softened cream cheese
1/2 c of mayonnaise
1 tsp of seasoning (Italian)
1/4 tsp of pepper (black, freshly ground)
2 c of shredded cheese (Mozzarella)
3 c of spaghetti sauce
1 c of water
2 pcs of garlic cloves; minced
Instructions:
Preheat your oven (400 degrees F). Combine onions, breadcrumbs, beef, and Parmesan; roll mixture into 1-inch balls then place on baking dish. Bake inside preheated oven for 15-20 mins or till meat becomes browned. Lower down the temperature (350 degrees F).
Arrange cubed bread on a 9×13-inch casserole, in one layer. Combine mayonnaise, seasoning, pepper, and (cream) cheese; mix thoroughly and spread above the cubed bread. Sprinkle over (1/2 cup) Mozzarella.
Combine (spaghetti) sauce, garlic, and water; add the meatballs and stir gently. Pour onto the casserole and sprinkle over remaining shredded Mozzarella. Bake inside the preheated oven for half an hour.
