Chicken and Dumpling Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
1/2 c of onions; chopped
2 cloves garlic; minced
1/2 c of flour (all-purpose)
1 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of pepper
1 pack of frozen peas (green)
1/2 c of celery; chopped
1/4 c of butter
2 tsps of sugar (granulated)
1 tsp of dry basil
4 c of chicken stock
4 c of cubed chicken; cooked
2 c of buttermilk-biscuit mix
2/3 c of milk
2 tsps of dry basil
Instructions:
In large-sized saucepan, you saute the garlic, onions & celery in heated butter ’til tender. You add the sugar, flour, salt, pepper, broth & basil then allow to boil.
Stir while cooking for 1 min then reduce the heat. You add the peas & cook it for about 5 mins, stir constantly.
Add the chicken in. Pour this into oiled 13×9x2″ bake dish.
For the dumplings: You combine the biscuit-mix & basil together in small bowl. Pour milk in thin stir ’til moist. Drop tablespoonfuls of mixture into casserole.
Have them baked w/o cover at three hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit for thirty minutes. Then cover & bake for 10 more mins ’til dumpling pieces are cooked.
