Cashew Chicken Casserole Recipe
Ingredients:
2 c of uncooked macaroni (elbow)
3 c of chicken (cooked); cubed
1/2 c of processed cheese (American); cubed
1 pc of onion (small); chopped
1/2 c of celery; chopped
1/2 c of bell pepper (green); chopped
8 oz of canned sliced chestnuts (water); drained
10.75 oz of canned condensed soup (cream of mushroom, undiluted)
10.75 oz of canned condensed soup (cream of chicken, undiluted)
1-1/3 c of milk
1-1/2 oz of canned broth (chicken)
1/4 c of melted butter (or margarine)
2/3 c of Saltines; crushed
3/4 c of cashews; halved
Instructions:
Layer macaroni, cubed chicken, cubed cheese, onion, celery, bell pepper, and chestnuts on a buttered 13×9-inch baking dish. Combine soups, broth, and milk; blend thoroughly and pour onto the chestnuts. Place inside the refrigerator, covered, for over a night.
Toss crumbs with butter; sprinkle onto the casserole then place cashews on top. Bake (350 degrees F), uncovered, for 35-40 mins or till macaroni becomes soft.
